The list for callback auditions for Mulan is posted outside Mr. Weiner's office.  If your name is on the list, you must attend the callback at 2:10 in the chorus room.  Please note that if your name is not on the callback list, it does not mean that you are not in the cast.  The final cast list will be posted on Wednesday.

 “Kicks for A Cure” – As part of our Bully Prevention Kick-Off we are participating in the community service project “Kicks for a Cure.”  We are asking for donations of used sneakers – any size, any condition.  These sneakers will be recycled and the proceeds will help families with children who have cancer. Please drop of the used sneakers in the box that is placed outside of the attendance office. We will be collecting these sneakers until October 7th.   Any questions – see Ms. Verdino.

 Every Cent Counts” Change Collection Fundraiser:  We are raising money for a special organization called Project Picture Day that provides school photo to  children in underserved countries throughout the world.  Please bring in your loose change (as well as any other money you would like to donate) and deposit it in the water cooler bottles that will be set up in both cafeterias, as well as outside of the attendance office.  At the end of this change collection, students will have a chance to guess how much money we have raised in order to receive a special prize.

 Hispanic Heritage Month Fact-of-the-DayAs America’s largest growing ethnic group, about 60 percent of people of Hispanic descent have type O blood compared to 45 percent of Caucasians and 50 percent of African Americans. Type O is the blood hospitals need most.

 Advertising Club will meet on Mondays, in Room 114. Mrs. Riccuiti is looking forward to creating posters, entering contests, and advertising school events with you. Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy some delicious snacks with us! 

ART CLUB meets on WEDNESDAYS in room 236. See Mrs. Clarke for details.

Community Service Learning Club will be meeting on Wednesdays and Fridays with Ms. Panayiotou.  On Wednesdays we will be meeting in the Middle School Library Computer Lab and on Fridays we will be meeting in rom 215.  Snacks will be served.

Computer Club will meet in room 121 on Mondays with Mr. Pagliari.

GSA CLUB (GAY-STRAIGHT ALLIANCE) will meet in room 102 after school on Fridays .Come be part of this exciting group. This Friday we will be selecting a name for our club mascot. Refreshments will be served.  See Ms. Waters for more details.

HOMEWORK CLUB will meet on Thursdays in ROOM 116 with Mrs. Bolton.  Feel free to come by for a snack and a fun and relaxing place to do homework or get help with your friends.  You may drop in any Thursday for any amount of time.  Hope to see you soon.  Snacks will be served. Italian club with Signora Gangidino! Room 225 on Wednesday’s. Come play Bocce, make Italian food & eat yummy snacks!

Jayhawk Newspaper Club Extra, Extra, Read All About It! – The Jayhawk Newspaper Club meets Thursdays after school in Room 205. We are looking for writers, reporters, artists, poll takers, photographers, and more to help create our online paper. Refreshments are served! Please see Mrs. O’Brien or Mrs. Welsh if you have any questions. Our first meeting is TODAY September 22.

KUNG FU club meets Wednesdays in the hallway outside the locker rooms. See Mr. Pekor for details! 

MAD SCIENTIST’S CLUB with Mrs. Stile will meet on Thursday’s, in room 111 at 2:05.

Games Club with Mrs. Clemente will meet on THURSDAY'S from 2:05-3:05 in room 105. Bring a friend of make a new one playing popular board and card games. All are welcome!

Attention Math Enthusiasts!

7th grade Mathletes with Ms. Panayiotou and 8th Grade Mathletes with Ms. Eatz will be meeting on Thursdays in room 215. Bring your thirst for knowledge and hunger for competition!  A snack will also be served.

Math Counts Club:  Are you interested working on some challenging math problems and competing for a place on our Math Counts team?  Well, come to room 219 on Fridays .  See you there.

SADD: All students are invited to attend this week’s S.A.D.D. meetings on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:15 – 3:15 p.m. in the Middle School Library Computer Lab. SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) is a special after school club where we plan and participate in exciting school-wide programs.  At this week’s meetings, we will be planning and working on our upcoming annual Bully Prevention Kick-Off. Please join Ms. Verdino…..Delicious snacks will be served.

Spanish Club - will meet on Friday’s, right after school in room 220. Come and learn more about the culture of the Spanish-speaking world through fun activities.
