Jericho Middle School is a sensitive educational community in which we promote the social, emotional and intellectual growth of our students. Our focus is to provide a school setting that is responsive to their educational and developmental needs. Day 2

Wednesday Device Free during lunch periods.

  • If you would like to participate in Winter sports, please bring your forms to the Nurse ASAP.
  • The JMS PTSA is excited to announce that the theme for 2018-2019 Reflections Art Contest is “Heroes Around Us.” This year students can participate in 3 categories: Literature, Visual Arts, and Photography. All art must be submitted on or before 11/1/18 to Dr. Gately’s office. All art must have the student submission form attached. Look for an email with the required submission form and rules for each category. Good Luck!
  • The PTSA Fall Book Fair in the MS library is TODAY, Wednesday, October 24th. Students will visit with their ELA classes and can go during their lunch periods to shop. Parents are welcome. Hope to see you there!
  • The Student Council and Community Service classes will be collecting wrapped candy for the Nassau County Veterans Service Food Pantry and Mercy First. We will be accepting donations from October 18th through November 6th. Please consider donating your leftover candy. Bins will be in front of the attendance office for your donations. Thank you for your continued kindness and generosity!
  • Next Week we will be celebrating 2018 Red Ribbon themed week as follows:
  • Monday October 29th will be Hat Day/ Crazy Hair Day (Either wear a hat or style your hair the craziest way you can).
  • Tuesday October 30th will be Pajama Day.
  • Wednesday October 31st will be Costume Day.
  • Thursday November 1st will be Sports Jersey Day (Wear a sports jersey of your favorite team or player).
  • Friday November 2nd will be Wear Red Day (In honor of Red Ribbon Week)

WEDNESDAY'S CLUBS
The Italian Club will meet in Room 225. Come join Ms. Gangidino in a game of Bocce Ball and eat Italian treats! NO MEETING 10/31

Community Service Learning Club needs all hand on deck to make pet beds for animals living in shelters. Let’s help make our furry friends a little more comfortable while they wait for their forever homes. Sewing skills not needed. See Ms. Panayiotou in Room 215.

Newspaper Club will meet in Room 205 from 2:05pm until 3:05pm. We are looking for writers, polltakers, photographers and more to create our online newspaper. Please see Ms. O’Brien or Ms. Welsh with questions.

**Geography Bee Club with Ms. Cantwell will meet in Room 201 from 2:10 to 3:10pm on 10/24.

Chinese Club will Ms. Chao will meet in Room 220.

The SADD Club will meet in the MS Library with Mr. Velez 2:15 – 3:15 pm. Snacks will be served.

Brave will meet in Room 223 with Ms. Vevante and Ms. Snyder from 2:05 – 3:05 pm.

Health and Wellness Club with Ms. Kamvakis will meet in Room 203 @ 2:05pm

Flag Football Intramurals will meet on Soccer Field at 2:10 to approx. 2:50.
