TUESDAY OCTOBER 17, 2017
DAY 2

Our PTSA will be running annual Book Fair on Tuesday, October 17th
and Wednesday, October 18th from 7:30 AM to 2 PM in the Middle School Library. 

Students will be visiting the fair with their ELA classes and they may also stop by after lunch. 

Sales are for those two days only!  Don’t forget to bring your money!  Happy Reading!


Any 7th and 8th graders interested in participating in a Winter I sport, there is a mandatory orientation meeting on Tuesday, October 17th at 2:45pm. See the athletic bulletin board for room numbers.


Ms. Scalera's It's Showtime class is sponsoring a collection of Halloween costumes for the underprivileged.  Please drop off your new or gently used Halloween costumes to the pail outside the Attendance Office or in Room 222 by Thursday October 19th

DID YOU MISS PICTURE DAY?? IF SO….THE MAKE UP DATE IS NOVEMBER 13TH

Jericho Middle School GSA’s are having a Pride and Rainbow Art Contest for LGBTQ history month. Artwork should express, reflect or relate to LGBTQ individuals or the LGBTQ community. All forms of visual art will be accepted. Entries are due to Ms. Waters in Room 102 or Ms. Brill in Room 202 by Tuesday October 24th

 

The JMS PTSA is excited to announce the theme for the 2017-18 Reflections Art Contest is "Within Reach". Students can participate in two categories: Visual Arts and/or Photography. All art must be submitted on or before 11/3 to Dr. Gately's office. All art must have the student submission form attached. Forms are available on canvas. 

 

MONDAY

ADVERTISING CLUB will meet at 2:05 in Room 114. All are welcome to attend. We will create posters to advertise school events, enter contests, and share snacks. Mrs. Riccuiti is looking forward to seeing you every Monday.

DIVERSITY DAY CLUB will meet in room 103. See Mr. Kuehn for details.

MATH COUNTS CLUB- Are you interested working on some challenging math problems and competing for a place on our Math Counts team?  Well come to room 215. Hope to see you there.

COMPUTER CLUB will meet in the Computer Lab, Room 205 from 2:10-3:25 with Mr. Pagliari.

ART CLUB- Do you like to draw, paint and have an imagination? You are invited to attend the art club after school. Bring a friend to room (FACS) 236 from 2:15- 3:15. Any questions see Mrs. Clarke in room 236. Refreshments will be served.

ITALIAN CLUB will meet in room 225. Join Signora Gangidino for snacks Italian music, games, bocce & more! All are welcome!

CHINESE CLUB will meet in Room 219. We will have Chinese table games, art and craft, cooking, Chinese movie, Karaoke, Calligraphy, dance, sports, and much more throughout the year. Snacks will be provided. All students are welcome.

S.A.D.D. will have its meetings will be on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:15 – 3:15 p.m. in the Middle School Library Computer Lab. SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) is a special after school club where we plan and participate in exciting school-wide programs.  At this week’s meetings, we will be planning and working on our upcoming annual Bully Prevention Kick-Off. Please join Ms. Verdino…..Delicious snacks will be served.

GEOGRAPHY BEE CLUB will meet in Room 201 with Ms. Cantwell.


STRATEGIES GAMES CLUB will begin meeting weekly in room 221 on Thursdays starting October 12. Come enjoy games, friends, and snacks

Attention Math Enthusiasts! 8th GRADE MATHLETES with Ms. Eatz will be meeting on Thursdays in room 217. Bring your thirst for knowledge and hunger for competition! 

SCIENCE CLUB -If you love science experiments and making new friends, meet Mrs. Stile in room 111 at 2:05. Refreshments will be served!

PEER TO PEER TUTORING CLUB will meet in room 115 after school on Thursdays. See Ms. Schisgall for details.

FRENCH CLUB will meet on Thursdays with Madame Mueller in room 110.  A bientôt !

GAMES CLUB- Play popular board and card games with Ms. Clemente in Room 105. Bring a friend or make a new one.

NEWSPAPER CLUB – Extra, Extra, Read all about us! Newspaper Club is looking for reporters, photographers, and writers! Come join the fun! The first meeting will be Thursday, 9/14, in Room 205. Snacks will be served.

SPANISH CLUB will meet right after school in room 220. Join us for fun activities as we explore the Spanish culture! You do not need to know Spanish or be in Spanish to participate - all are welcome!
