Incoming 7th Grade

In keeping with the District's philosophy of paperless communication, you will be selecting courses through the POWER SCHOOL PARENT PORTAL between February 5 & February 15, 2018.  Students will meet with their guidance counselors to review course preferences after selections are submitted.  Please click the link below to view the course descriptions and discuss this information with your child, then follow the directions you will receive via email on February 5, 2018 to submit course preferences.  

Students will be asked to choose a music course for 7th grade.  
Students currently enrolled performing ensembles should continue that course of study.  Students who select chorus or exploratory music must also select at least three electives and will be scheduled for one
 of their choices.  Students who select band or orchestra do not need to provide elective choices..

By February 5, 2018 you will receive an email about the accelerated math program.  Please click here to read the Math Program Parent Information Bulletin, which you may find helpful in informing your decision.

The course selection process is NOT competitive: all students have an equal chance of being scheduled for their chosen courses as long as the information is complete when the guidance counselor meets with the student.

Team configurations for core subjects are carefully balanced based upon student needs, gender, and/or world language, elective and music requests, and pupil services. As a result, we cannot honor any specific placement requests. If there are extenuating circumstances regarding your child’s academic, social or emotional needs, please submit these concerns in writing to your child's guidance counselor or the Assistant Principal BY MARCH 16, 2018. We will acknowledge all written correspondence. If you do not receive an acknowledgement, please call extension 3270.

The deadline for all scheduling input is MARCH 16, 2018 We cannot consider any input we receive after this date.
